A married woman was allegedly thrashed by her family when she had gone to her sister-in-law’s home on the Fatehgarh Churian road here four days ago. They allegedly abducted her and took her along while threatening to kill her husband and his family. The woman is three months’ pregnant.

A complaint was lodged with the police yesterday. The cops have registered a case against 20 persons.

The victim identified as Jaanu had got married to Prabhu Kumar against the wishes of her family in the court. He told the police that after their marriage, Jaanu went to meet his sister. He alleged that the accused barged into the house and thrashed him and his wife. They also beat up his sister and forcibly abducted Jaanu.

The police have registered a case under Sections 452, 365, 323, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC against Aalam Gujjar, his son Attu, daughter Sanbhu, Bhappi, Rana, Roshan, Maskeen, his wife Shallo and 15 unidentified persons.
