After MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap raised the issue of choking of sewers, Municipal Corporation Commissioner conducted an inspection of intermediate pumping stations (IPSs) and sewage treatment plant (STP) here yesterday.

MC Commissioner Harpreet Singh visited Khaparkheri STP along with Superintendent Engineer Sandeep Singh and Executive Engineer Manjit Singh. He visited some areas where choking of sewerage was reported and asked staff to open manholes. He found that pumps on disposal points were not working properly.

He also inspected IPSs on Batala Road and Mohkampura to check the proper flow of sewerage. He said the MC was receiving several complaints regarding sewer problems from various parts of the city.
