Two days before the hearing in the Kotkapura police firing case, Amritsar North MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh fired a salvo at CM Bhagwant Mann through a social media post uploaded on Saturday.

He stated: “The accused’s grand attorney, who is now your government’s grand attorney, giving me and my private attorneys a good hit.”

Giving vent to his annoyance over the “unfriendly” treatment meted out to him by the CM staff, he said: “Visited you at your government residence in Chandigarh on November 28, 2023 for detailed talk in this regard. Today marks two months, but now your PA is not happy to hear my phone.”

He reminded him of the promise “you made to me especially on the day you made me join in the holy city of Amritsar on June 21, 2021 where Kejriwal came unexpectedly. I am still where I stood before the elections. Punjab also remained there.” Political observers stated that Kunwar’s observation indicated his growing disillusionment over joining politics.

Earlier, the opening statement of his social media post congratulating the CM for giving “a big message” to the people of Punjab by not conducting gender determination test “whether a princess or prince is born in your home” was considered by the public to have been written in a sarcastic tone.
