Day after the city police recovered three Glock 9mm pistols from three drug peddlers smuggled from Pakistan, the Amritsar rural police also recovered three Glock pistols and arrested a cross border trafficker here on Sunday.

The drug peddler has been identified as Ravinder Singh of Daoke village located near the international border.

His accomplice Arshdeep Singh of the same village was yet to be arrested.

The three pistols were without magazines and bullets.

Charanjit Singh, SSP Amritsar rural, informed that the CIA staff of rural police got a tip off that the duo was involved in smuggling of weapons from Pakistan and they had recently retrieved a consignment of weapons from the neighbouring country.

Immediately, police teams were despatched. Ravinder Singh was arrested when he was travelling on a bike.

During preliminary investigation, Ravinder disclosed that he along with Arshdeep Singh was in contact with Pakistan based drug peddler going by the name ‘Chacha’.

He was produced in the court of duty magistrate and brought on police remand for further investigations, the SSP said adding that raids were on to nab Arshdeep.
