Anita Sood (74), a resident of Tarn Taran who was the national high jump champion from 1971 to 1974 has been nominated as the observer of Indian team that is participating in Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, scheduled from August 28 to September 8 in Paris (France). Anita has received a letter in this regard from the Paralympic Committee, India, signed by Jayawant GH, its secretary general. Anita was all-India university champion in high jump and hurdles and helped Bengaluru University win the All India University Athletics in Baroda in 1970.

Anita has been following sports since 1974 when she was married here. She hopes that the para players will win more than 20 medals in the Olympics this time.
