The annual prize distribution function of Government Elementary School, Dhakwala, in block Gandiwind, organised on Wednesday showcased the talent of kids.

Paramjit Kaur, Block Elementary Education Officer (BEEO), was the chief guest at the function in which besides the students and their parents, village elders from surrounding areas, participated in large numbers. A talent show was organised, featuring children from various age-groups and schools. The programme also included an impressive exhibition of books and models. The presentations by the students were commendable.

Rajminder Kaur, school head, lauded the cooperation of villagers in ensuring the progress of the school.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
