Two unidentified armed persons fired at the gate of a 70-year-old widow’s residence in Ratta Gudda village on Thursday night.

In her statement to the Harike police, the victim said that after taking her meals, she along with her younger son Ranjit Singh was sitting in a room of the house when two motorcycle-borne unidentified persons fired at the gate of her house and managed to flee from the spot.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Tarsem Singh said that a case under Section 125 of the BNS and Section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against the unidentified accused. Further proceedings in the matter have been initiated, the Assistant Sub-Inspector said.
