The Army and the Gurdaspur civil administration conducted a joint exercise ‘Rahat’ at the Dera Baba Nanak brigade today near the International Border (IB).

The joint initiative, which is an ongoing exercise, was presided over by Brig Vikramjit Singh Kochhar, Station Commander, Tibri cantonment.

The exercise was conducted in close coordination with officials of the Gurdaspur administration to improve the disaster response during a war-like situation. All senior officials of the administration were present. The exercise was also aimed at improving coordination between the Army and the civil administration.

“This collaborative effort underscores the importance of joint planning and execution of plans during a conflict. Relief operations during emergencies, too, were discussed,” said Brig Kochhar.
