Activists of the Lok Bhalai Insaf Welfare Society led by Baldev Singh Sirsa demonstrated against the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for not taking action against misleading information about the 10th Sikh Guru in the books of the Namdhari sect.

After attending a hearing at the Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission at Kacheri Chowk, Sirsa conducted a press conference and stated that publications of Namdhari sect made blasphemous claims about the death of 10th Sikh master to link the sect with mainstream of Sikh religion. Sirsa alleged the sect followers misinterpreted the Gurbani to diminish Guru Granth Sahib.

Sirsa had filed a complaint against the publication of books in 2018 to the SGPC and Akal Takht.

“I have submitted all proofs and books along with the complaint. The Sikh History Research Board of Dharam Prachar Committee of SGPC conducted an inquiry into it and found all the allegations correct,” he said.
