The Amritsar rural police today cracked the Punjab National Bank (PNB) robbery case and arrested two persons in this connection.

They were identified as Satnam Singh alias Gaggar (21) and Simranjit Singh (23), both residents of Ramuwal village. The police have recovered Rs 2.77 lakh looted from the bank along with a toy pistol and four potash cartridges from their possession. The police also recovered the bike on which they had come to the bank branch at Basarkw Gillan village.

Charanjit Singh, SSP Amritsar rural, said that the accused would be produced in court tomorrow and their police remand would be sought. Their third accomplice was yet to be arrested. Raids were being conducted to nab him, he added. Three armed persons had looted over Rs 4 lakh from the PNB bank branch.
