Batala MC launches ‘Best Employee of the Month’ award

The Batala municipal corporation (MC) has started the ‘Best Employee of the Month’ award to motivate workers and to ensure the city is cleared of its warts and remains clean.

The winners will be given a cash award of Rs 10,000 apart from a momento.

SDM-cum-MC Commissioner Vikramjit Singh Panthey said the award was meant for outsourced employees which includes sanitation workers, gardeners, servants, data-entry operators, garbage truck drivers and fire brigade vehicle drivers.

For the last several weeks, the MC had been under fire for dumping garbage and other trash at residential areas subsequent to which there was a threat of an epidemic during the ongoing monsoon season.

Panthey said the photograph of the ‘best employee’ would also be displayed on the notice board of the MC office throughout the month.

The Commissioner appealed to all the employees to perform their duties with dedication to ensure the city remains garbage free and green.

Simultaneously, Panthey also appealed to the residents to cooperate with the MC so that the city can be given a new look.
