The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of its district president Harvinder Singh Sandhu inaugurated a membership campaign here on Wednesday. In this regard, a special meeting of party officials was held at Shaheed Harbans Lal Khanna Memorial. Union Minister Som Prakash was specially present at the meeting.

The BJP’s core group members, state and district officials and others were present at the meeting.

While addressing the participants at the meeting, Som Prakash said the BJP had started its national membership campaign across the country.

He said workers could also become members by calling on the party’s toll free number 88000-02024. “Now, the toll free number is available for everyone. Any person can enrol for the BJP membership by giving a missed call on it,” he said.

He said, “People can also opt for the BJP membership through the Namo App. A target of making 10 crore members has been set during the campaign.”

Som Prakash said, “The BJP is the only democratic party based on workers which has the highest number of members in the world. After completion of the membership campaign, elections would be held for the party at the national, state and district to booth level.”

Harvinder Singh Sandhu said on giving a missed call at the toll free number, a person would get an SMS after which he could download his/her membership card by clicking on a link.
