'Blast' inside Majitha police station in Amritsar leads to panic

Panic gripped Majitha town here today after a 'blast' inside Majitha police station at around 9.30 pm.

Following the blast the police closed the gates of the police station as people started gathering outside it.

After an IED found outside Ajnala police station and a blast inside Gurbax Nagar police post in Amritsar police commissionerate, this is third such incident.

SSP Amritsar (Rural) Charanjit Singh said it was a tyre blast. No mediapersons were allowed near the vicinity of the police station.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
