Tarn Taran: Employees of Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL), Goindwal Sahib, have donated Rs1.92 lakh as their input to fight the Covid-19 panedimc. The money was given by Gurcharan Singh, head of the unit, to Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal here on Tuesday. The Deputy Commissioner has expressed his gratitude towards the employees of BHEL who assured to donate more for the noble cause. — OC

Nirankari volunteers donate blood

Amritsar: On the request of the head of the Blood Bank, Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, a blood donation camp was organised by the Sant Nirankari Mission at their satsang centre, Rani ka Bagh, here on Tuesday. The Mission organised the camp while following the guidelines of the administration. More than 50 units of blood was donated at the camp. Henceforth, they would conduct a blood donation camp every week. Sukhdev Singh, zonal in-charge of the Mission, said the city had patients who required blood. “We are talking about pregnant women, thalassemic patients, and the treatment of several patients is not possible without blood transfusion,” added Sukhdev Singh. — TNS
