Dialysis care centre opened in city

Amritsar: A private health facility, Ivy Hospital, has started a state-of–art medical care dialysis centre for kidney patients in the city. Giving information, Dr Kanwaldeep, medical director, said, centres opened at Amritsar and Mohali were equipped with the latest haemodialysis technology and have 25 haemodialysis stations. The patients would benefit from the care of experienced and dedicated renal care nurses and technicians who were committed to provide excellent treatment and support, he said. The centre would offer different types of dialysis therapies, including online HDF, regular visits of nephrologist with a quiet and safe clinic environment, he added. Dr Raka Kaushal, Director, Nephrology, said online HDF allows better removal of waste products from the blood, which may contribute to an improved survival for patients compared to those receiving standard haemodialysis. — TNS
