BSF nabs 5 smugglers in Amritsar border belt

According to the BSF spokesperson, alert troops made the arrests in separate instances. Acting on drone movement over Bhaini Rajputa village, the BSF launched a search operation and recovered three packets containing a total of 1.680kg of heroin.
The BSF personnel arrested three suspicious individuals in the same area and seized two packets containing a pistol, two magazines, and 63 live cartridges, along with four mobile phones. All suspects were from Bhaini Rajputa village, and further investigation is underway. The spokesperson added that efforts were being made to trace their links, both backward and forward.
In another incident, the BSF nabbed two drug peddlers from Rorawala Kalan village and confiscated three packets containing 1.750 kg of heroin. The bike they were travelling on was also impounded, and Rs 2,020 in cash and two mobile phones seized. The accused — hailing from Dande and Attari villages — have been handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation.
