A bike patrolling party of the Border Security Force nabbed a bootlegger near the Dariya Mansoor Border outpost here on Saturday. He was identified as Tilka Singh of Chak Dogra in Ajnala while his accomplice managed to flee the spot.

Inspector Ravi Yadav in his complaint to the Ramdass police stated that on Friday night, on seeing the BSF team, two motorcycle-borne men took a U-turn and tried to flee the spot. Sub-Inspector Umang Yadav along with his team member constable Ravi chased them. During the chase, the pillion rider fell off the bike and ran towards an agricultural field. He said Yadav and Ravi tried to nab the motorcyclist, but their bike slipped leaving them injured while the motorcyclist fled the spot.

He said constable Nagender Yadav chased the pillion rider and nabbed him. During search, the BSF team recovered around 10 packets containing 30 litres of country-made liquor, a mobile phone and Rs 1,570 Indian currency.
