AGC celebrates foundation day
Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) celebrated its 24th Foundation Day on Tuesday (May 27). The day served as a heartfelt tribute to AGC’s enduring legacy of excellence and a celebration of the collective strength, dedication and achievements of its academic and administrative community. The event featured a rich medley of cultural performances and interactive activities that kept the audience captivated throughout. Energetic dance numbers, soulful singing renditions, a lively “Aura of Style” fashion show, and engaging games showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of the AGC family. The college management, including Amit Sharma, Dr Rajneesh Arora and Principal Dr Gaurav Tejpal, unveiled the first edition of the AGC Handbook, a document that outlines institutional discipline, ethics, targets, roles and duties. The celebration culminated with a powerful bhangra performance, embodying the rich cultural spirit of Punjab and the vibrant ethos of AGC.
Shooting range inaugurated
Partap World School, Pathankot, inaugurated its cutting-edge indoor shooting range at the school campus, marking a significant milestone in the school’s commitment to holistic student development and sports excellence. The prestigious inaugural ceremony was graced by Justice Jagmohan Bansal, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court as the chief guest along with JPS Khurmi, District and Sessions Judge, Pathankot, as the guest of honour, who officially opened the facility. Addressing the gathering, Justice Bansal appreciated the school’s progressive vision in introducing such world-class sports infrastructure and emphasised the importance of nurturing sporting talent at an early age. This modern shooting range is designed to meet international standards and is open to students from all schools across the region, with a focus on promoting shooting as a discipline and career path. The facility has national-level coaches, imported weapons for professional-level training, open for both girls and boys. Students aged 11 years and above are eligible to enroll and train in 10m range shooting, receiving structured coaching under the supervision of certified experts.
DAV commemorates Shaheedi Diwas
To pay homage to the fifth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev, a special assembly was organised at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar, on the occasion of his Shaheedi Diwas. This solemn day is a reminder of the courageous sacrifice and unwavering faith of the Guru, who was executed for his commitment to his beliefs. Shabad and inspirational thoughts reverberated in the assembly. Manager of the school, Dr Pushpinder Walia, Principal, BBKDAV College for Women, urged the students to follow the teachings of Guru, as enshrined in the Adi Granth. Principal Dr Pallavi Sethi paid tribute to the Guru on his Shaheedi Diwas. She implored the students to reaffirm commitment to the values of courage, faith and service that Guru Arjan Dev embodied.
CA Internship Training
The Institution’s Innovation Council of DAV College, Amritsar, organised an internship training for its students under the guidance of Principal and IIC president Dr Amardeep Gupta. Two students of B.Com-Semester VI, Anuj Mishra and Akul Nanda, attended their internship training under CA Ajitpal Singh Aneja. Priya Saini, Gazal of BBA-Semester VI and Tisha Aggarwal, Drishti of B.Com-Semester II attended training at CA Jagmohan & Associates. Similarly, Sahil Ghai, Sanchit of B.Com-Semester VI and Niyati Aggarwal of BBA-Semester II attended internship training with CA Sahil Sachdeva & Associates. These students gained practical knowledge about filing income tax returns, GST reconciliation, book-keeping, auditing, accounting etc.
