Amritsar: The students of Khalsa College brought laurels by winning the ‘30th Baba Farid Football Tournament’. College Principal Dr Mahal Singh, while congratulating the team, said that about 16 teams participated in the tournament held at Faridkot. After winning various matches, the Khalsa College reached the final and defeated Baba Farid Football Club 5-4. The college team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 35,000 and a trophy.

Amritsar: The youth festival of Guru Nanak Dev University will be held from September 28. The Zonal Youth Festival will feature an array of performances and competitions, including music, dance, art and theatre. The festival is designed to provide a platform for students to express their creativity and showcase their skills in front of a diverse audience.

SGPC holds contest

Amritsar: Gurnadar Singh of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Golden Avenue, won the first position in writing beautiful Gurmukhi language during the religious competitions organised by the SGPC in dedication to the Parkash Purab of fourth Patshah Guru Ramdas. As many as 34 schools participated in the contests organised in different disciplines of religious studies. Jaskaran Singh of Nishan-e-Sikhi International School, Khadoor Sahib, bagged the first position in the ‘Shabd Vichar’ competition, Hardarash Kaur of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Basant Avenue, got first position in the poetry contest.
