Principal Dr Pushpinder Walia of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, was honoured for her contribution to the field of education at an award ceremony organised by the Legal Action Aid, Amritsar. The ceremony was held to recognise the achievements of women in various fields on the eve of International Women’s Day. Jagdishwar Kumar Chopra, Judge, Consumer Court, Amritsar, was the chief guest while Mandeep Kaur Johal, Member Judge, District Consumer Court, Amritsar, and Rajwinder Kaur, Tehsildar, Amritsar-2, were the special guests. Dr Pushpinder Walia said that education is a powerful tool for empowerment, and being women, it is one’s responsibility to uplift and inspire the future generation.

KCVAS organises seminar

Amritsar: A seminar focusing on the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in animals was organised at Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Science (KCVAS). Dr AK Arora, Director of Research, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, was the expert who emphasised the importance of comprehensive antimicrobial stewardship strategies, AMR policies and the integration of these measures across various sectors in India.
