Tarn Taran: Mehar Singh Chutala is dist prez of Jat Maha Sabha

Tarn Taran: Mehar Singh Chutala, Sarpanch of Chutala village, has been appointed the district president of the All India Jat Maha Sabha. The appointment letter in this regard has been given to Mehar Singh on Monday and has been issued by Harpal Singh Harpalpura, state president of the All India Jatt Maha Sabha. Mehar Singh had supported the farmer’s nation-wide agitation launched on the Delhi borders. He condemned the Union Government for not repealing the three contentious farm laws which were not acceptable to farmers across the country. — OC

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
