CIA staff arrest three with pistols, Rs 70K drug money in Amritsar

In another case, the Border Security Force (BSF) has seized two pistols from Amritsar border belt. Similarly, the city police have arrested two miscreants with a country-made pistol.
Sharing details of the seizure, SSP, Amritsar Rural, Maninder Singh said acting on a tip-off, CIA staff arrested a notorious criminal, identified as Tarsem Singh, a resident of Mohalla Jaswant Singh, Kikkar Pir Wali Gali, near Gurdwara Sahib in Tarn Taran along with his associate Amarpreet Singh and Rajbir Singh of Nikka Adda in Attari. Tarsem Singh faced many cases. They had formed a gang involved in the smuggling of illegal weapons into Indian Territory from Pakistan for further distribution to criminal elements.
He said they were arrested from the Ranike village turn during a special operation. The police seized a 9mm Glock pistol along with a .30 bore pistol, two live rounds and Rs 70,000 drug money and a Toyota vehicle from their possession. A case under sections of the Arms Act and Section 111 of the BNS has been registered at the Gharinda police station here.
During a preliminary probe, it was found that they were associates of Dubai-based gangster Kishan, who originally hails from Jandiala. They were also in direct contact with Pakistani smuggler named as Khan. The accused said they used to further supply the weapons at the behest Kishan accused. They would be produced in a court to seek his police remand. Tarsem Singh faced around 10 cases.
Similarly, the Gate Hakima police have arrested two persons, including a notorious criminal, Sahil, alias Gardela, of Gujjarpura along with Jaspreet Singh, alias Jass, of Guru Gobind Nagar in the same locality. They were intercepted by the police at a check-point. The police seized a .32 bore country-made pistol along with four live cartridges from them. Sahil had several criminal cases registered against him.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force has recovered two pistols from Amritsar border belt. One was recovered from Dhanoe Khurd village and the other was from Havelian village.
