Continuing with the tradition of organising a Kirtan Darbar on the Parkash Purab of Guru Harkrishan every year by the Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD), this year also a grand Kirtan Darbar will be organised on August 4 from 4 pm to 9:30 pm in the premises of Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, GT Road.
A meeting was held here in this regard on Wednesday. CKD vice-president Jagjit Singh said that the organisation had always worked to preserve heritage and Sikh religious values. He said that the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar Takht Sri Kesgarh Giani Sultan Singh, Jathedar Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, Baba Sewa Singh Khadoor Sahib Wale, Sant Baba Kashmir Singh Bhoori Wale, Head Damdami Taksal Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa along with other eminent personalities would participate in Kirtan Darbar. He said that due to rainy season, a waterproof “pandal“ equipped with air-conditioners will be installed for the comfort of devotees.
Officiating honorary secretary Sukhjinder Singh informed that ragi jathas of Guriqbal Singh (Bibi Kaulan ji Wale), Amarjit Singh (Patiala), Hazoori Ragi Jatha of Harmandar Sahib Ravinder Singh, Bibi Prabhjot Kaur (GT Road, School Jatha) and Gurdeep Singh Saluja would present Gurbani kirtan. Sukhmani Sewa Society, Amritsar Sewak Sabha Society, Waheguru Simran Sewa Society and Gurmat Satsang Sabha will also participate in the Kirtan Darbar.
