A student studying in a convent school lost part of a tooth as he was allegedly beaten up badly by a school teacher here on Tuesday. The parents of the victim student have demanded the registration of an FIR against the teacher and its management.

Ashu Sharma, a resident of Naraingarh area, said her seven-year-old son Daksh Sharma studied at a private convent school located near Khasa. She alleged earlier too they had complained against a school teacher, but nothing was done. She said this time her son came home frightened and he had swelling in one eye and in the mouth.

She said her both sons studied in the same school at Khasa. Daksh was a student of Class II. She alleged a school teacher had assaulted him earlier and they had lodged a complaint with the school administration around four times in this connection. She said this time another teacher beat him up.

The family immediately lodged a complaint with Gharinda police in this regard. The boy got so terrified that he was refusing to go to school.

Gharinda police said the school management was summoned along with the teacher. ASI Jaswinder Singh said the medical examination of the boy was conducted and its report was awaited. He said both the parties were called to the police station on Saturday and an appropriate action would be taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, the school management has refuted the allegations. They said the teacher scolded the student, but they did not physically assault them as being alleged. They said they were in touch with the family and the matter would be sorted out.
