CM Bhagwant Mann attends cricketer Abhishek Sharma's sister’s wedding

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has assured full support from the state government for the development of Amritsar. Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatia, who met the Chief Minister during a private function on Friday, said Mann reiterated his government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and civic amenities in the holy city.

The Chief Minister was in Amritsar to attend the wedding ceremony of Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma’s sister. Both Mann and Bhatia blessed the newly-wed couple and conveyed their best wishes for a happy and prosperous married life.

On the sidelines of the event, Mayor Bhatia held a brief discussion with the Chief Minister on various development projects currently under way, as well as those planned for the city. He said Mann assured him of complete cooperation from the state government to ensure the timely execution of works aimed at strengthening civic services, road networks and sanitation systems.

Bhatia added that the Chief Minister had shown keen interest in ensuring that Amritsar, being a historic and cultural centre as well as a prominent global tourist destination, receives special attention in terms of urban development and civic management.

The event was attended by several prominent personalities, local leaders and relatives. Bhatia also congratulated Abhishek Sharma’s family on the occasion and praised the young cricketer for his achievements.
