The Hindi Department of the local Shri Guru Arjan Dev (SGAD) Government College, Tarn Taran, in collaboration with ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’, organised Hindi Diwas on Tuesday. The main theme of the seminar was “Jazbaat-e-Hindi’.

Anita Sharma, manager of the Permanent One Step Centre, Tarn Taran, was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof Manpreet Kaur from the Hindi Department enlightened the students about the importance of Hindi. Students of the department presented various cultural activities such as poetry recitation, speech competition, singing, dance, poster-making, slogan-writing and rangoli.

Anita Sharma highlighted the journey of Hindi’s development and encouraged the students by describing Hindi as a rich language.

Jasleen Kaur, Deputy Director, ‘Mera Yuva Bharat , Tarn Taran, conveyed greetings on Hindi Diwas and motivated students to stay connected with their roots. College principal Prof Gurinderjit Kaur and Prof Jaswant Singh also inspired students to remain attached to their traditions and culture. Prizes were distributed to the winners.
