BR Hastir, chairman of the association, said despite assurances by various Chief Ministers of Punjab in the past and Union Governments, no compensation was given to the victim families.

The association demanded Rs8.50-lakh compensation per family and Rs5 lakh for those families who migrated from their native places due to terrorism. — TNS
