The concluding day of the two-day ICSSR sponsored international conference ‘Kudrat ke Sab Bandey’— on the life and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev had several dignitaries endorsing the need to propagate the message of oneness by the first Sikh guru. The valedictory address was presented by Prof Jagbir Singh, former head, department of Punjabi, University of Delhi.

While addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon too stressed on taking more such initiatives to make the young generation aware of the teachings of Guru Nanak.

“It is nearly impossible to comprehend Guru Nanak and his teachings in totality as he was not just the founder of Sikhism but also a visionary, a poet, a scientist and the lessons he gave transcend the boundaries of religion,” he said. Prof Jagbir Singh said, “It is imperative for the society, particularly the younger generation to be acquainted with the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev so that his philosophy of universal brotherhood, religious tolerance as well as social and gender equality illuminates the world and ushers in a noble ideal society.”
