“Vikramjit Singh, a proclaimed offender, was wanted in an attempt-to-murder case registered against him at the Jhabal police station here in March 2024, and had been absconding since. His accomplice Ajaypal, alias Mota, was earlier arrested by the Tarn Taran police after a brief exchange of fire in March 2025,” said Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav.

He said both accused had criminal backgrounds, with several cases registered against them.
