A cyclist died on the spot when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Chabal-Attari road on Friday night. Sub-inspector Kanwaljit Singh of the Chabal police said that the deceased has been identified as Nishan Singh (60) of Giddri Baghiarai village. He was a farm labourer and returning from Chabal village on a bicycle.

When he reached the T-point at Gurdwara Beer Baba Budha Sahib, he was hit by an unidentified vehicle. He fell down and received head injuries resulting in his death on the spot. Jagroop Singh, son of the deceased, reported the matter to the police which lodged a report under section 194 of the BNS. The postmortem was done at the local Civil Hospital today.
