DC reviews flood situation in villages as Beas river touches danger mark

The DC assured them all help and said that the district administration was taking all preventive measures.
There are reports that the water level upstream in Beas has gone up to 70,000 cusecs which was up to 28,000 to 30,000 cusecs. SDO (Irrigation) Navneet Singh added that downstream, the water level is 49,000 cusecs. Both levels are touching the danger points.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Gujarpura and Gharka villages, affected by the river Beas. The DC listened to the problems of farmers and assured them that the administration has set up control rooms at the district headquarters with the phone number 01852-224107 which anybody can contact to seek help. The DC reviewed the situation with the help of a drone to assess the increasing water level in the river.
