A special dengue awareness campaign has been launched in the district with events organised every Friday to educate public. A recent event was held in the Tung Bala area of Majitha Road, where health workers, ASHA workers and nursing students participated in an awareness rally.

Civil Surgeon Dr Kirandeep Kaur emphasised the importance of cooperation between the health department and the public to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. “During the rainy season, water accumulation is common, but it is crucial to ensure that mosquito breeding is stopped,” she said. She urged everyone to take responsibility for preventing water accumulation in their homes and surroundings.

Dr Kirandeep Kaur advised the public to take preventive measures, such as frequently changing water in coolers, fridges and not letting it accumulate in pots, tanks and rooftops, and using mosquito repellent creams.
