District-level sports competitions were held under “Khedan Watan Punjab Dian” on Sunday. Sukhchain Singh Kahlon, District Sports Officer, said tournaments were being held in football, kho-kho, kabaddi national style and kabaddi circle style, gatka, kick boxing, netball, powerlifting, volleyball (Smashing and suiting), badminton and table tennis.

Today’s results are: Football competitions were held at Khalsa Collegiate Senior Secondary School for the U-17 girls’ category. The team of Deriwal Club bagged the first place, followed by the team of Sri Guru Harkrishna Public School, Ajnala, which stood second and The Millennium School at the third place.

Khalsa Football Club won first place, Takapur Club second and Young Star Football Club got the third spot in the U-21 to U-30 boys’ category. In the district-level table tennis under the 21 to 30 men’s competition, the first place was won by Rakshit Malhotra, second by Sarthik Thakur and third by Harkrirat Singh and Dinesh Mahajan.

In table tennis for 51 to 60 men’s category, Sanjay Mehra won the first place, Vivek Rishi got the second and Ramanpreet bagged the third position. In table tennis for 51 to 60 women’s category, Rajni Gupta bagged the first place. In U-21 boys’ volleyball competition, the Khalsa College School coaching centre team won the first place, Shahjadanand College team second and the team of Talwandi Ghuman bagged the third spot.

In the U-21 girls’ volley competition, the team of the Khalsa College School coaching centre won the first place, the team of BBKDAV College second and the team of Akal Academy, Basarke, was placed at the third spot.

In kabaddi circle style U-17 girls’ category, Gram Panchayat Sohiyan team won the first place, Guru Arjan Dev Sports Club team second and Meritorious School, Verka, and Guru Teg Bahadur Sports Club team bagged the third position.

In kabaddi circle style U-17 boys’ category, Gram Panjayat Sohia Kalan team got the first place, Meritorious School team second and Corporation Fatahpur team and Guru Teg Bahadur Khilchia team were placed at the third spot.
