Devotees take part in nagar kirtan

A colourful nagar kirtan procession was taken out from Sarhali Sahib to Sri Goindwal Sahib to take part in the ongoing Gurmit Samagam organised to mark 450 years of the Gurai (Guruship) of Guru Ram Das and the Jyoti Jyot Diwas of the third Sikh Guru Amar Das.

The nagar kirtan was taken out under the patronship of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and was led by Panj Piaras. A large number of devotees from different villages of the area participated in the nagar kirtan. The nagar kirtan which started from Sarhali Sahib, passed through Naushehra Pannuan, Sheron, Tarn Taran, Naurangabad, Reshiana, Fatehbad and reached Goindwal Sahib in the evening. The devotees had arranged for langar, tea and other eatables for the participants in the nagar kirtan at several places on its way to Goindwal Sahib.

The nagar kirtan procession was received by the officials of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) in Tarn Taran where Baba Sukha Singh and Baba Hakam Singh, its organisers, were honoured with siropas.
