The district administration organised a function to celebrate ‘Dhian di Lohri’ of 51 newly born girls on Tuesday to spread the message of equality between male and female babies. The function in this regard was organised at the Mai Bhago College of Nursing, Usman. Deputy Commissioner Rahul was the chief guest at the function and officials from different departments too were present on the occasion.

The DC in his address recalled the remarkable performance of women in all fields of society. He congratulated mothers of the baby girls who were honoured with kits. He said that the message of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ deserved to be implemented in true spirit.

The function was attended by Rajdeep Singh Brar, ADC, Rahul Arora, district programme officer, Rajesh Kumar, district children security officer, Paramjit Singh, DDEO (secondary) among others.
