In a vibrant and festive celebration of “Dhiyan di Lohri” (Lohri of daughters), the district administration has honoured 120 newborn girls at the School of Eminence, Mall Road. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney led the celebrations, dancing to the beats of dhol and performing giddha alongside fellow women officials. The event showcased traditional Punjabi folk songs and dances performed by the girl students of the school, adding to the joyous atmosphere.

The administration also organised camps focusing on women’s health, cleanliness, and skill development, aiming to empower women through education and employment opportunities. Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasised the vital role of girls and women in advancing society. “This celebration is a testament to our commitment to empowering women,” she said.
