The district administration has made adequate arrangements in all mandis to ensure smooth procurement and timely payments to farmers. Civil and market committee officials have been directed to maintain proper cleanliness, provide basic facilities such as water and electricity and ensure that the weighing, lifting and payment processes take place without delay.

Special focus has been placed on flood-affected areas, where additional manpower and infrastructure support have been ensured to avoid any inconvenience to farmers bringing their produce. The authorities concerned have also coordinated with procurement agencies and transporters to ensure continuous lifting of purchased grain to storage points.

Officials said the procurement process is running smoothly with no major complaints reported from any centre. Farmers have welcomed the prompt arrangements made in the mandis this year and expressed hope that payments will be credited on time.

A district-level monitoring team is visiting the procurement centres regularly to review the situation and address any emerging issues on the spot.

As per the Agriculture Department estimates, the paddy yield is expected to be good this season despite weather-related challenges in some parts of the district. The authorities have appealed to the farmers to bring well dried paddy with permissible moisture content to ensure quick procurement and payment.
