The city police in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI) installed 100 plastic and iron-made beautiful dividers on the Heritage road, leading to the Golden Temple.

Parminder Singh, ADCP (Traffic) said the SBI funded the project, which would realise two objectives. Apart from enhancing the beauty of the heritage street, it will facilitate maintenance of social distancing for the devotees visiting the Sikh shrine. Now, devotees, e-rickshaws and other vehicular traffic will be in separate lanes. So there will be no bumping into one another.

He said the same system would be introduced on the other side of the heritage lane too.
