To provide better civic amenities to residents, the Amritsar Municipal Corporation has started a door-to-door property survey. The work has been assigned to Cyber Swift Infotech Pvt Ltd, whose survey teams are visiting different areas of the city and collecting property-related information from residents.

A meeting regarding the survey was held under the chairmanship of Additional Commissioner Surinder Singh recently. During the meeting, the Additional Commissioner directed officials to fully cooperate with the survey teams and also create awareness among residents so that an accurate database can be prepared. He said the company will complete the work within six months and hand over the data to the municipal corporation. The database will include details of residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Once the database is ready, every property will be given a unique ID number. With this, property owners will be able to check their property details themselves. This system will also help different departments of the municipal corporation in providing better services to citizens.

Additional Commissioner Surinder Singh appealed to the residents to cooperate with the survey teams and give correct information about their property, such as the owner’s name, father’s or spouse’s name, whether it is self-occupied or rented, covered or vacant area, floor-wise use, whether the building is approved or not, whether it is government or private and whether it is temporary or permanent.

He said the survey will not only help the MC in planning services but will also prove beneficial for citizens in the future. In the meeting, officials, including Assistant Commissioners Vishal Wadhawan and Daljit Singh, Urban Planner Mani Sharma, the Superintendent of Property Tax, ATP officers of the MTP Department, GIS team members and company representatives were present.
