UN Entertainment Society, in collaboration with Virsa Vihar, announced the 4th edition of Sur Utsav, an eight-day music festival from July 27 to August 3 at Kartar Singh Duggal Auditorium in Virsa Vihar.

The music festival will be dedicated to prominent personalities from the world of classical music, literary music, Sufi music, folk music and cinema. A press conference was held in this regard at Virsa Vihar. Punjabi folk singer Harinder Sohal said that the series has been going on every year since 2022. “This Sur Utsav is dedicated not only to Bollywood but also to renowned artists of Punjab. The aim is to bring together the stalwarts of music industry together for city audience in an immersive experience,” he said.

On the first day of the Sur Utsav, starting from July 27, tabla performance will be staged by Taalim Academy. On July 28, a classical singer from the city, Ramesh Bhagat, will present a dedication to late poet of Punjab, Padma Shri awardee Surjit Patar. On July 29, a dedication to actor Raj Babbar will be hosted. A dedication to famous qawaal Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan will also be hosted.

The festival will also showcase poetry and music of famous Punjabi Sufis and poets including Baba Bulleh Shah, Shiv Kumar Batalvi and others.
