The police have booked a person, who was driving an SUV, after the death of an eight-year-old boy. The victim was injured in an accident on November 30.

The suspect has been identified as Kuljeet Singh of Tarsikka.

The child was going to Bheelowal village from Nath Di Khooi village on a tractor-trailer with his parents when an SUV hit the vehicle while overtaking.

Victim’s father Balbir Singh said the SUV was being driven at a high speed. He said his wife and son fell off of the tractor after the accident. Thereafter, both were taken to a hospital.

While Balbir’s wife was seriously injured, his son succumbed to injuries.

Investigating Officer Balbir Singh from the Mehta Police station said a case under Sections 304-A and 279 of the IPC had been registered. He added that the suspect is yet to be arrested.
