Sikh institutions, including the Akal Takht and SGPC, have hailed the election of nine Sikhs, including five women, as members of British Parliament.

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh congratulated Sikhs living in Britain saying it was a proud achievement for the global Sikh community.

SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami also congratulated the newly elected Sikh Members of British Parliament. He said the community had earned name and fame with its hard work and capability.
