Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Friday visited flood-affected areas in Amritsar’s Rajasansi and said there would be no shortage of funds for the reconstruction of border fencing and outposts washed away by the Ravi.

He also met officials of the Army and the Border Security Force here. The BSF officials told the minister that flooding in the Ravi had caused breaches in the dhussi bundhs (earthen embankments) in Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Pathankot. This had washed away around 30 km of border fencing and damaged a large number of border outposts.

Sanjay Seth visited Motla, Dhandal, Nepal, Karial, Shahpur and Bhindi Saidan villages. He also listened to grievances of residents.
