EPF not being deposited, claim NHM employees

Around 300 employees working under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Kapurthala district are facing inconvenience as employees’ provident fund is not being deposited in their EPF accounts for the past more than two years. Despite repeated attempts, accounts officer Rajesh Kumar could not be contacted.

These instalments had regularly been deducted from the salaries of these employees since 2022, but even after the passage of more than two years the employee and employer’s share in PF for this period had not been deposited in their accounts. Besides, this is also causing loss of interest on these outstanding contributions as well.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
