Farmers affected by hailstorm get fodder for cattle

Government distributes fodder for animals for farmers whose crop has been damaged by the hailstorm in Amritsar on Sunday.

Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal distributed fodder to farmers in the Rajasansi and Ajnala areas. These farmers were affected by heavy hailstorm that damaged crops and fodder for livestock. The minister had earlier assured the farmers that arrangements would be made to provide fodder for their cattle.

Around 2,500 quintals of fodder were distributed to the farmers, with the minister stating that a survey had revealed that around 3,600 animals in the area were affected by the shortage of fodder. He assured that fodder would be provided for the remaining cattle too.

Dhaliwal also announced that the process of assessing crop damage had been completed and compensation would be disbursed to the affected farmers soon. He emphasised that compensation would be distributed transparently, without any bias and that each farmer would receive compensation based on the extent of their loss.
