Farmers under the banner of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha organised a motorcycle march in the border area township of Bhikhiwind to press for the acceptance of their demands. Master Daljit Singh Dialpura led farmers in the march. Daljit and leaders of several farmer outfits in their address condemned the Union Government for not implementing the demands which were accepted by the Centre at end of the Delhi Morcha.

Leaders demanded implementation of the minimum support price (MSP) for all crops and stressed on linking prices of vegetables and milk with the price index. They said farmers would stage a dharna in front of Punjab Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar’s residence in Patti on August 17 for the acceptance of their demands related to the state government.
