While addressing on the occasion, Daljit Singh Dialpur, Nachhattar Singh, Manjit Singh Baggu and other farmer leaders of different unions said a month has almost elapsed, but the paddy procurement process is yet to function smoothly. Farmer leaders said their paddy was not being procured at MSP and they were forced to live in the mandis for days together waiting for the procurement of their crop. The leaders demanded the cancellation of the criminal cases registered against the farmers for burning paddy straw and checking the black marketing of the DAP.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul at a meeting with the farmers assured them of resolving their problems at the earliest.
