Two unknown persons fired gunshots at a welding shop in the Ramdas area here on Wednesday. Nearby shopkeepers and a man standing at the shop had a narrow escape in the firing incident.

Harsimran Singh, a resident of Kuralia village, told the police that he was a farmer by profession. Harsimran said yesterday, he went to a welding shop of Kanwaljit Singh located in the Ramdass area. He said around 6.30 pm, two unknown suspects arrived at the shop on a bike and started firing. They fired around three shots and later fled from the spot on their motorcycle.

The police have registered a case under Sections 109 and 3 (5) of the BNS and the Arms Act against unidentified miscreants and initiated probe in this connection.
