In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that in February 2022, the accused barged into her house and thrashed her husband and children, during which her husband was seriously injured. But they did not lodge any complaint with the police at that time. She said they lodged a complaint with the senior police officials in August 2022.

She said enraged over this, the accused entered her house on August 9 when she was alone. She alleged the accused took turns and raped her. She said the accused threatened her of dire consequences if she told anything about the incident to anyone.

Sub-Inspector Kamalpreet Kaur, the investigating officer in the case, said the FIR was registered following the orders of high court. No arrest has been made so far.
