Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh has asked the Health Department to focus on the hotspots where mosquito larvae were found during previous years.

The directive is part of efforts to prevent the outbreak of dengue and chikungunya. He asked the Health Department officials to involve ASHA workers and nursing students. Dr Balbir Singh was holding a meeting with the Health

Department officials and district administration recently. He said that employees of all government departments should be made aware and informed to identify the dengue larvae and also about the steps taken to end their sources.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
